Relationship to Bob and June: Rebecca is the third
child of Bob and June
Location: Five miles northwest of Shevlin, Minnesota

Children: Aaron works for a cable-laying company,
Gillian who lives in Apple Valley with her husband
Craig, and Emily, who lives with her boyfriend Chris
Olson in Bemidji. We have two grand- children -
Natalie Rose Marcella Beach and Joely Jane Olson.
Work: Wayne has worked for the same road
construction company as an operator for almost 36
years. He is laid off in the winters. I am retired from
everything that looks like work. I like to write, make up
trivia questions, and design web sites.

Pets: Wayne and I have only one pet of our own and
that's Mambo, an 8-year-old neutered male cat with
personality plus. I call him Mr. Ambassador of Good
Will because he loves everyone and everything. We
have one of Brenda's cats in our foster care
program--Winnie, a two-year-old yellow tabby female
that arrived at Brenda's job in a pickup wheel well, and
we have Tango, Emily's neutered but dominant male
cat. We also foster Aaron's black lab mix AJ, and
Emily's black cocker spaniel Shadow. We spend more
on pet food than on groceries each week.

Favorite TV Shows: I like Project Runway ("One uff you
vill be in, and one uff you vill be out."), American Idol,
Trauma in the ER, and 'The Dog Whisperer,' when I can
find it. Wayne likes anything with Clint Eastwood or
John Wayne in it, plus Vikings football. Wayne likes to
play a lot of online poker when he's laid off.
Favorite places to eat: I like Taco Johns. Mexi-rolls with
guacamole! Wayne used to like the Super Chinese
buffet in Bemidji, but now he can't because of all the
saturated fat and cholesterol. I am supposed to lose
weight too, but . . .
Favorite activity to do as a couple: We like to drive the
back roads in the spring just to see what has
happened over the winter. When I'm feeling well
enough, we love to dance to country music. OLD
country, not that thar new-fangled stuff whut ain't real
country.
Favorite Foods: I like all pasta and rice dishes. Some
of my Blanshan favorites are Peterson soup and
Sylvia's hotdish. Wayne likes venison chops, but now
he has to watch the red meat because he found out he
has a completely blocked right coronary artery. We are
anticipating bypass surgery sometime in the future.
He's doing well now just being on medication, however.
